CyberDict is a free, open reference maintained by Yaniv Haliwa, an independent cybersecurity researcher and penetration tester. A cybersecurity dictionary of 359 terms covering attack techniques, CVEs, tools, protocols, methodologies and concepts, each with a short and full description, category and skill level.
The goal is a fast, searchable reference that does not bury the useful part under advertising, sign-up walls or SEO filler. Everything is readable without an account, and the full dataset is available over a public JSON API so it can be queried from a script, a terminal or an AI agent instead of a browser.
Entries are curated rather than scraped. The aim is accuracy and usefulness during an actual engagement or while studying, not maximum record count.
359 terms at present. Largest categories: Attack (74), Concept (53), Protocol (45), Tool (41), Methodology (40). The set grows and is corrected over time, so treat counts as current rather than fixed.
CyberDict documents security techniques and tooling for education, defence and authorised testing. Descriptions are reference material, not instructions to attack systems you do not own or have written permission to assess. Using anything described here against systems without authorisation is illegal in most jurisdictions and is not the purpose of this project.
